      1. Data Controller

      The controller of personal data processed in the EcoGuard application is:

      2. Categories of Data We Process

      In the EcoGuard app, we collect and process the following categories of personal data:

      • Email address — used for user accounts, authentication, and communication.
      • Location data (GPS) — if the user grants permission; point-based location used for map features, marking incident locations, and creating reports.
      • Photos captured on the device (media) — if the user uploads them as part of a report (stored in Cloud Storage / server).
      • Push notification tokens — FCM tokens used to send notifications (e.g., report status updates).
      • Report / comment / submission data — report content, metadata (date, timestamp), and statuses.

      3. Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing

      • We process the email address and account data to provide the service and enable login (legal basis: performance of a contract / user consent).
      • Location data and photos are processed to enable report creation and handling (user consent).
      • Push notification tokens are processed based on consent (stored solely for delivering notifications).

      4. Data Sharing and External Services

      We may share data with service providers acting as data processors for technical purposes (e.g., Firebase Auth, Firestore, Cloud Storage, FCM).
      All such providers operate as processors and are listed in the app’s technical documentation.

      5. Data Retention

      Data is stored for the period necessary to fulfill the processing purposes (e.g., the duration of the account, time required to resolve reports).

      Specific retention rules:

      • Email and user account: stored until the user deletes the account.
      • Photos/reports: stored until deleted by the user or until the retention period defined in the policy expires.

      6. User Rights

      Users have the right to:

      • access their data,
      • rectify their data,
      • delete their data (“right to be forgotten”), according to Article 17 GDPR.

      In practice: once a deletion request is received, we will delete the account, reports, comments, and photos associated with the account (as described in Section 9).

      7. Data Deletion Procedure

      To delete personal data:

      1. Sign in to the app → profile → “Delete account”
      2. (or) → profile → My reports → “trash icon” / swipe left (Apple)
      3. (or) → weather → “icon in the bottom-right corner” → comments → delete comment (trash icon) / swipe left (Apple)

      Alternatively, send an email to kontakt.ecoguard@gmail.com requesting deletion.

      We will remove your data from Firestore/Storage and auxiliary systems. If certain data is shared with external processors, we will inform you about the deletion time.

      8. Security Measures

      We apply technical and organizational security measures, including encryption in transit, access control to the database, authorization procedures, and regular access reviews.
